SCAD X HARBOR - Week 7
Hello, this is my seventh week of the Scad x Harbor blog!
Feedback From Mentors:
For shots 2 and 3, I added smoke and dust, but I still need to figure out the blockage between the pot and the smoke. Here is final render version:
Vi:
-
Bubbles - more transparency(Now feel like air bubble): reference from Molly-lighting
-
Shot 2/3: see hint of something
-
Shot 1: defocus but not as dark on background - flames more details
-
Shot 6: lighting is flat/more light variation on the case
Hailey:
- Shot 1: bring up light, add vignette
- Shot 4: slow down towards end
- Shot 6: smoke feels like one layer, flat
Molly:
-
see end of the video(reference)-re-evaluate your materials
-
Shot 4-down move so feel like it pulls you down
-
Shot 1: pull out a tiny bit, so more space

The problem occurs when I save to disk as a USD file—it crashes due to a lack of memory. To address this, I customized the settings by reducing the voxel size and density to optimize memory usage. I also deleted some attributes to make the file lighter and checked the 16-bit option in the Pyro Solver.

Use OpenCL to improve the simulation speed.

Attribute Delete:
Since my smoke simulation is simply floating smoke in the environment, I can safely delete attributes related to fire, combustion, and extra calculations to optimize performance.

After deleting those redundant attributes, the computer increases its performance.
